How to Transfer Company Billing Ownership

Move billing control to another coworker on the same company when the owner changes.

If the person who pays for your company's membership changes (retirement, role change, ownership transfer), you can transfer billing ownership to another member on the same company without disrupting membership or history.

Owner-only. Only the current owner can initiate a transfer.

Transfer billing ownership

  1. Open Company Seats.
  2. Find the coworker who should become the new owner.
  3. Click Transfer Ownership (or the appropriate action menu).
  4. Confirm in the popup.
  5. The new owner is immediately the billing contact. They'll get an email notification.

The previous owner stays on as a regular seat — they keep full directory/event access but no longer control billing or the membership tier.

Can the new owner reject the transfer?

Not through the app. If there's a dispute, contact us and we can reverse the transfer server-side.

What transfers over

  • All future invoices go to the new owner's Stripe customer
  • The Stripe payment method needs to be re-entered by the new owner (we don't move card data between Stripe customers for security)

What doesn't transfer

  • Past invoices remain under the original owner's name for accounting history
  • Personal profile, email, and settings of the previous owner remain unchanged

Still need help?

Transfers around ownership changes can get tangled (e.g., the previous owner left before transferring). Contact us with both parties' emails and we can work through it.
