Inclusion and participation of all Signal Hill residents has been a guiding light for me serving as your Council Member. By passing the Commemorative Flag Policy, our city has celebrated the work of those before us fighting for equality and the importance of recognition in the ongoing struggle to ensure everyone is welcome and valued as an equal part of our city.
This week marks the 100th anniversary of the Ratification of Women’s Right to Vote and we raise the suffrage flag across Signal Hill to recognize their efforts and thank those foremothers for paving the way for today’s women in leadership who make our community stronger.
I recognize the sacrifices the generations before us have made to give us the right to vote and ask you to help get out the vote this November. We have more work to do.
Every voice is important.
EXERCISE your RIGHT TO VOTE, by registering, checking your registration, and learning about the election coming up this November. Verify your Voter Status & Register Today!
REPRESENT: you’re invited to join the City’s Diversity Coalition Committee (DCC). The DCC will examine current policies, engage and educate the community, and identify actions for change on various aspects of race, diversity and equity.
